Rozen Maiden

I''ve seen this Rozen Maiden image floating around before, but the quality wasn't so hot and I've always wanted to make it a wallpaper... So I scanned it myself so I could better perfect the quality ;D After some re-coloring of the image and editing, this is the end result!

I liked this scan mainly because it had everyone it in and Suiseiseki is my favorite :3 I copied the line work from the tea cups from sketch in the back of the Rozen Maiden Artbook, and then colored them cel-shaded to match the style of the scan. To finish, I reconstructed the chair back from another Rozen image and then repeated the pattern on some origami paper I had for the the background pattern.

I say, Suigintou is by far the fanciest little Rozen Maiden, costume-wise. As such, the original scan with her text-covered dress was tedious to re-draw. But I had this "nesting" idea for the wallpaper, so I used vectors to create the background (feathers and box) based off of screenshots and line art, to get the details right and make the lines consistent. And finally I finished it off with some magical effects ^^
