Darker than Black

This was a great Darker than Black poster featured in the Newtype December issue. After scanning it, I did a lot of clean up to smooth it out and remove dust, since it's... well you know, darker than black ;D Now it's sharp, clean and ready for the desktop!

I recreated the original image from July's Animage magazine because this is the first picture I've seen featuring Hei's illusive counterpart (and sister), Bai. I used a paint-y texture and reduced it to black and white to make the stars, and I really think the uneven-ness gives it a more natural look :o As usual the longest part was vectoring and coloring the characters since dark colors just look so blocky on my plasma screen ~_~

So what drove me craziest about this wallpaper was the difference in color displays for Mac monitors and PCs, especially when dealing with dark on dark colors. But I finally decided to cater to the majority, i.e. you Windows users! Anyhow, the repair job due to the general darkness, was tricker than expected but it turned out nice in the end. Switched up the sky and color scheme from what the original had and tah-dah!
