[Rin & Archer: Fate/Stay Night] 12.17.07
I completely missed the Fate/Stay Night bandwagon while the show was airing, so as opposed to ignoring it, I'm just going to hop on a little later ^^; My favorite character set in the show was Archer and Rin, so I chose this classic image to make a wallpaper from. The background I made for it is really just my take on the Unlimited Blade Works world that Archer goes into, complete with clock work gears and weapons in the ground! XD
[Okama's Cloth Road] 11.24.07
A non-anime entry this week! I think this is actually a first ever for this site... Well, more like, a non-series oriented character in a wallpaper. I love Okama's art, you've probably seen it before if you've ever watched Himawari, Densha Otoko or Gunbuster 2. It's a very unique style and I wanted to have a go at walling it, and I mean really walling it, not just customizing a scan ^^; I made the background based on the clothing fabric design the girl is wearing, and it just grew from there. Back to the anime stuff though, next week ^^
[Darker than Black - The After] 11.14.07
This month's Newtype was full of colorful surprises, my favorite of course, being this Darker than Black wallpaper, that I've made into a desktop for your viewing pleasure. I'm always glad to see a final image or two from a show, after it's been over for a while. I wonder if any of you out there happened to follow the show all the way through..? I usually never make it through more than a few episodes of a show, but DtB caught me, and I kept watching... until the end where it pretty much felt like it lost all direction :| But maybe that was just my take on things ^^;
[Ulquiorra in the sands... ] 11.05.07
I finally started reading the Bleach manga again, after brushing it aside for more than a year. I'd like to say tons has happened in the story line since then, but it really hasn't XD I managed to read through more than a hundred chapters in a couple hours because, let's just accept it, there really isn't all that much dialogue in the manga. At least there was tons of new and coolly design characters. Among them, Ulquiorra! While not my favorite Espada, he is kind of heartless, and that can be entertaining. But if he's your favorite, then get him on your desktop! XD
[Their smiles are contagious :D] 10.28.07
I'm currently at a half-way point between having a new website and not wanting to update the old one. But since everything takes longer than planned at some point or another, I'll just keep adding to this one here :3 I've also been a bit too pre-occupied with relocating to do too much anime watching or wallpaper making, but this one managed to get through! It's from a new series called Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture. Boring title, I know, but adorable story where a college student can see and talk to everyday bacteria. Unfortunately, because of the subject material, I'm sure this will be giving translators out there some headaches!
[The Knights and Their Mares] 09.13.07
I've added some more from Code Geass today. My copy of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion The Complete recently came in, and the first thing that caught my eye was the awesome poster in it. After that though, it was pretty disappointing with images that I've already seen and were previously in the other Code Geass guides released. But still, as always, if you're a fan I'm sure you can manage to see past all that :D And the cover art is pretty nice too ;D So, that being said, this wallpaper is a cleaned and edited copy of the poster, that will definitely make the perfect desktop for you OTP fanatics out there ;D
[Tales of Symphonia Trio] 09.06.07
This wallpaper's for you, T! My sister is a huge Tales of Symphonia fan, and while I played it too, I think my love for it ended when the game ended. But I think her enthusiasm for it just makes me enjoy it more ^^ So now that it's an OVA (that must be pretty hard to follow unless you've played the game), it's time for it to join the anime wallpaper collection I've got going here. The one thing that really stands out for me on the OVA is the soundtrack though, especially opening--- it's beautiful music *_*
[Higurashi - Candy Girls] 08.10.07
Okay, I admit this is a bit random and all over the place, but like I had an idea when I started! Dengeki G's (I think) had this lovely scan of Rena, Rika, Mion and Satoko. I took out Mion since I didn't like her outfit and left the others in their little maid costumes. And since they're all dressed up out of character, I figure it's just perfect for a photo shoot. So that was kind of the idea around this wallpaper. But hey, it turned out pretty :3
[Gurren Lagann: Run for it! ] 08.02.07
Simon from Gainax's new series, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is one of the few characters that develops from an un-confident and scared kid to the greatest hero on the planet. And the weird thing is watching the show, you kind of start to believe it to. This wallpaper is kind of a halfway point for that character development, he's still running away from the baddies, but you can tell he's got a plan ;D I traced the monsters from the end theme of Gurren Lagann and drew the earth falling apart from a variety of screen shots. I'm trying to secretly counteract the abundance of Yoko walls ;D
[Lucky Star Fun in the Sun!] 07.23.07
More swimsuits for the summer time! I picked a Lucky Star scan this time, to add some new anime to the list. And none of them are main characters! So much so, that I have yet to see the episodes where I would learn their names ;D But thanks to the magic of the internet, I can tell you they're Minami, Yutaka and Hiyori. But there's Konata, Kagami and Tsukasa in the background so there's something for everyone! I hope to make a few more summer themed walls before the season ends, so be on the look out! :D
[Code Geass C.C.'s Solo] 07.12.07
Since I'm pretty amped about finally seeing the end of Code Geass, I decided to make another wallpaper from the show, this time featuring the elusive and mysterious C.C.. I kept it clean for the desktop, and picked a less racy image of C.C. that was originally drawn for one of the Code Geass DVD covers. I went for a look for the background similar to when Lelouch first meets her and gets his Geass on and kept it pretty C.C. centered. And now all that's left is to wait and see how it ends :x
[Groovy Magic] 07.03.07
New wallpaper today from Gunbuster 2! Aim for the Top, just cause I can. Today is a brighter and more anime styled wallpaper than I've been doing for this series. The original image is the cover for the recent artbook for the series, and it was a super long parade of characters. Might be a bit too colorful for some, but since the skies have been dreary lately, I needed something to brighten the room ;D
[Darker than Black Night Sky] 06.16.07
So, if you've been watching Darker Than Black (and this isn't really a spoiler) you'd know that Hei is looking for his sister Bai! And I found her, in this month's Animage Magazine ;D This is one of the few pictures I've seen where Hei looks happy, so it was a nice change. Everything is based off the original scan, but I just re-made it so it'd be excellent quality for your desktop. Even their clothing choices match their names...
[SOS-dan at the Beach!] 06.05.07
I think the most difficult part about making wallpapers nowadays is accommodating for all the different screen resolutions. The original Haruhi scan was completely ready for a widescreen wallpaper, but not so good for the standard 4:3 resolutions. And I really hate excessive cropping. So to make it work on anything, I completely remade the background and adjusted the characters to fit. I'm still amazed though, that more than a year later there are still new images from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya popping up everywhere. Too bad the same doesn't happen with other shows...
And by request, I've also added a new widescreen version of my Tenjo Tenge wallpaper featuring Maya. The best part is, it's not cropped to fit---it was extended ;D
[Perfect Blue in Green] 05.20.07
I have returned to the classics for this week! Perfect Blue was one of the first anime movies I saw (if you don't count things like Unico...) and it really left an impression on me, mostly for the surreal story line and what was then, amazing animation. Still is, really. The image is from a film frame that was printed in a 1998 issue of Animage magazine. And while I wasn't collecting back then, I've managed to buy some of the old ones, so there will be more retro-updates coming your way.
[Idol Master Xenoglossia] 05.14.07
More new shows! I've honestly just been watching more anime this season than ever before :o It must be the lack of school girls in school type shows ;D So this week, it's all about Idol Master Xenoglossia. While the show hasn't really caught me yet, the artwork is glossy and sleek (as you can see from the wallpaper). Just one of the many mecha shows this season too... which for once, isn't a bad thing either ;D
[Nono's Memories!] 04.29.07
Small update this week with a new wallpaper for Gunbuster 2! Aim for the Top. This is another of the glossy postcards I bought, apparently a Gainax store exclusive. In website news, I've added a new affiliate, Shinndou. Shinndou features the wallpapers of Grayserg and Shinn who both make really detailed wallpapers that stay true to the anime in both style and quality. And I've been told, they'll be updating soon ;D
[Romeo x Juliet: A Little Romance] 04.23.07
I remember when Gankutsuou came out, a lot of people were upset that it wasn't following the original story. However, I was ecstatic. What's the point of repeating the same old story in the same old way when you have an avenue as limitless of animation to bring any fantasy to life? So, the same can be said with Gonzo's new adaptation of Romeo x Juliet. So far, the only similarities are the character names! XD But it is a beautifully animated show that is taking a more fantastic approach to the story (complete with Pegasus) to the classic, and well worth checking out if you haven't already. And here's a wallpaper that captures that magic, in case the show has already captured you ^^
[Yin and Yang: El Cazador de la Bruja] 04.14.07
One of the shows I'll be keeping an eye on this season is definitely going to be El Cazador de la Bruja. It's playing out so far in much the same style are Noir and Madlax, and seeing as how those are a few more of my favorites, I'll hang on for the ride. I was drawn in by the original scan because of the circular, yin yang position of the two characters. This wallpaper is a step away from the extreme clean that I've been doing lately, but still as high quality---just with some grunge styling. If you haven't already, you should check it out, even if it's just to listen to something new from Yuki Kajiura!
[Mamoru-kun was Blessed by a Goddess!] 04.05.07
Random wallpaper this week from Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo! I was browsing through some of the older magazines and checking out all the things that were hyped up all over the place that didn't really leave a lasting impression. Happens every season anyway. So what shows have stood the test of time for you? :o
[Darker than Black: Dark City] 03.24.07
Getting into the new stuff! Of all the upcoming shows this spring, I'm most excited about Darker than Black. It has Yokko Kanno as its composer and it's done by Studio Bones, which generally makes shows I like. In fact, I can't think of any that I wasn't interested in. This wallpaper features our lead characters, Hei and Yin and the villain! >:D So here it is, a Darker than Black wall before you even know whether or not you like the show ;D
[Shadows in the Dark - Jigoku Shoujo] 03.16.07
I'm still a Jigoku Shoujo fan, and apparently so are other people 'cause there's a second season :B So I thought it would be nice to get another wallpaper in for the series before I get to wrapped up in shows from the new season and stuff from the past season that I'm just finally getting a chance to watch (i.e. Kanon!).
[Fairytale Endings] 03.09.07
And they all lived happily ever after! Or at least, that's just what this scan from Ouran High School Host Club made me think. It was a really enjoyable show that somehow, I haven't managed to get around to walling until now. Anyhow, the most time spent on this had to be cleaning the scan, as it was text covered and from an Animage Magazine. But in the end, all is well. Still working on updating this site, but I figured, I better spend some time doing what I enjoy most, and that would be making the wallpapers :3
[Topless!] 03.03.07
One of my favorite shows in the past couple of years was the OVA series Gunbuster 2! Aim for the Top. Aside from having fluid animation and very stylish character designs, the story was as entertaining as it was adorable. I decided to use the official art by Okama for this wallpaper, though it's not quite the same as the anime, it has a softness you seldom get from cel shading. I've been a bit slow as far as walls go lately, but I've got a renewed interest that ought to produce some fun new stuff!
[Kiddy Grade 2! ] 01.22.07
I feel like I've completely gone full circle. That title was no typo --- looks like Kiddy Grade 2 will be airing this year. And since they were kind enough to include some images in the most recent Newtype, I walled them! :3 Supposedly, the two characters aren't Eclaire and Lumiere, but really something tells me that's probably just part of the "gimmick" they've got going on... I guess you never know though :D
[Red Garden of Sadness] 01.14.07
Okay, so if you've watched it, Red Garden is a bit of a weird show. But it really has a lovely color scheme with really retro looking character designs. And from what I've seen so far, the premise is a lot like Gantz. So, for that and the fact that I just thought this picture was cool, I made a wallpaper for the show! :D I've been wanting to get some more new stuff in and there's really a lot to check out. Oh, and I've got a new look coming up for Ningen so... be prepared for some changes sometime this month or next! <3
