[A Genshiken Christmas!] 12.21.06

I've been working on the half re-CG and half vector for this image since I got the January issue of Animage a week ago. And I am so happy I managed to have the time to finish this before Christmas, so I can present a brand new Christmas wall this year! I loved Genshiken and apparently there's an OVA for it with the Kujibiki Unbalance DVD Box. Happy holidays y'all!

[Ice Cold Bleach ] 12.11.06

More Bleach! This time I chose the calendar page with Hitsugaya Toushiro, cause I haven't done one with him yet. Since the original image was very portrait like without a whole lot of action, I kept up with that look for the wallpaper, just adding Hitsugaya's bankai ice dragon along his sword. Since the original pictures are textured, I continued the textured look for the rest of the wall.

I'm currently trying to find something new to get into, anime-wise, but it's really not working... Ah well, there were a lot of things from the past year that I never walled though I meant to! XD

[BLEACH, Ichigo Emerges] 11.24.06

Here's a little blast from the past for this week! It's Ichigo from BLEACH in all his fightin' glory! I bought a couple calendars again this year... I don't know why anymore since like, I honestly never use even like 5% of what I scan. But anyway, new stuff from BLEACH. This calendar was particularly odd in that all the images were textured. Things in print normally don't do that cause it doesn't turn out as sharp. And it didn't, but I still <3 it.


So on to the wallpaper! I wanted a texture look since it'd best complement the original style of the scan. It's all a compilation of many paper textures I've scanned and stocks from sxc.hu. I really need to get around to walling someone other than Ichigio...

[Brave Story - A Walk on the Wild...] 11.18.06

I started watching Kanon cause they look like the characters from AIR :3 I remember that show came out the first time and I totally ignored it, but now, sappy anime shows are my thing :D

So yeah, that's totally unrelated to today's walls which is from Brave Story! Brave Story looks to be about a boy who wants to change his destiny! Feels like a common theme in anime. I like the fluid style of the art though, and I have high hopes for the movie which ought to be released state-side sometime, seeing as how it was picked up by Warner Bros. We'll see!

[Pumpkin Scissors!] 10.18.06

This week, I've decided to include another wallpaper from the blossoming new season of anime ;D I haven't really been watching all that much, so really going by what other people have told me, I hear Pumpkin Scissors is a rare promising show coming from Gonzo. But as usual, that's the word after only a few beginning episodes. I need to watch it though, and come to my own conclusion! Till then, here's a wallpaper adapted from one of this month's Megami Magazine posters. Enjoy!

[Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion] 10.03.06

Time for the guys! I don't think I've made a wallpaper with a just a guy in it for quite some time... Maybe even never :o But I'm too lazy to look through :D Anyhow, this wallpaper comes from the new series Code Geass which should be starting October 5th from what I've read.

The character designs look awesome really, and the story seems pretty interesting, so I know I'll be watching! Oh, and in passing, I moved, am currently getting used to using another computer and actually somehow left behind all my previous lil' wallpaper files and materials. As a result, it took me a month to recover ;D Or at least, that's my logic. I'm gonna be doing more new shows as they come out cause... yeah, I'm just into that again. ^^

Sup Internet! I'm a slacker whenever possible. Always remember that <3 Anyhow, I find I've been doing more scanning than walling lately, so here's a wallpaper made from my scan of a Megami Magazine poster featuring Tonagura! I haven't seen the show, but I hear it's like a comedic take on the whole meeting a childhood friend and falling in love theme that's so prevalent in anime.

[Into the Light - Saya] 08.15.06

More Blood+! Today, I'm mourning the loss of the 3rd Blood+ OP which was excellent for the "WTF" nature of the 4th OP. The animation is fine but wow... what were they thinking with that song? XD Yeah, I know there are fans out there, but that's just my two cents! I loved the original picture of Saya in this fetal position when I saw it, so I did the background in the style of the third opening, with grunge and the old film and pencil scribbles look.

[Study Date! Kare Kano] 08.06.06

Welcome to 1998! It was a pretty good year for anime, I think! There was Cowboy Bebop, Kare Kano, Outlaw Star, Steam Detectives... You know, things people still actually still watch today ;D So today, I made a new wallpaper for Kare Kano though I think it's better known today as His and Her Circumstances. It's definitely up there as one of my all time favorite shows! <3

So, I was thinking the other day how, even with a new season of anime in the works, I still kinda want to do some older titles that I never got around to. So, this week I've got an oldie but a goodie from Cowboy Bebop! With Faye just throwing all her money in the air and cares to the wind really, I figured it matched that one song from the show, "Want it all Back." I went with a different look altogether though for this wall, cause I can since it's my site ;D

[An Unlikely Trio] 07.21.06

More Blood+! Still into the show so far, and things are getting interesting again! One of the many aspects of that is what might be happening with Solomon, so it's only fitting that he's in this new wallpaper ^^ I just loved this poster when I saw it in this month's Newtype Japan. It was a tough scan to piece together in the first place, and then even more work redoing the background ~_~ Still, I like how it turned out, true to the original.

[No Zegapain, No Gain!] 07.15.06

What can I say? I guess I'm just fickle :3 If you've been here within the last week, then you'll notice I changed the theme. But eh, I think this one ought to last longer than a week ;D Anyway, all the changing is for a reason, because I want to expand the site a bit and add temporary scan galleries, like how Random! does.

And on to the wallpaper! This week, I've added a new section for Zegapain! So like, even though I haven't watched much of the show, the OP music is just beautiful and I looked to the OP (with the flowers) for the inspiration for this wallpaper.

[Mai Otome - Chie!] 07.10.06

Uwahahah, I changed the layout again, and I have to say, it is much easier with the CSS set up. Now I can do great things by just changing the banner image and stuff :3 It's also increasingly easy to update, so here's another Mai Otome wallpaper, this time featuring Chie from the Mai Otome Idol Scoop Book ^^

[More H!] 07.03.06

I was inspired to do some updating with my recent acquisition of the Comptiq Heroine's magazine, which seems to be a new contender in the Megami and Dengeki Animaga poster magazine genre :3 And that's always a good thing! So, a few posters caught my eye and with some additions and clean up, they really make nice desktops. The first one is a fan service filled image with Rena and Mion from Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and the other is promotional for the second season of Honey & Clover.

[Black Lagoon - Super Maid!] 06.30.06

I just loved the design of this character, Roberta, from Black Lagoon, even though I haven't watched far enough to actually know who she is. One thing is certain from the image though: she's a baddass. And so, as with all pictures that look really really cool, I decided to wall it ^_^

[Mai Otome Akane, and NANA] 06.21.06

I didn't devote as much attention to Mai Otome as I did for Mai Hime, but you know, in retrospect, it was still a pretty fun show ^^ This wall features Akane, and while she isn't a main character, she played a much bigger role in Mai Otome than she did in Mai Hime. And this wall should be eye-candy enough for fans of her in either show ;D

Also, if you didn't notice, since I didn't really announce it, I added two wallpapers from NANA. The scans were from the promotion of the first volume of the DVD, which believe it or not, goes on sale 07/07 for 707円! Quality marketing ;D

[Blood+, Diva and Saya] 06.15.06

Hmm... I've got an unintentional sister theme going on at the moment! While deep down inside, I know I should cut back on the Blood+ walls, I really just can't help myself with all the awesome art work for this series that comes out XD This time, I did a light one with Diva and Saya looking all so sexy. And since they're in bedroom attire, I figured a nice silky curtain setup would work perfectly ;D And to think I didn't like this show in the beginning!

And another! If you haven't watched Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, then... this wallpaper is probably a little spoilerish. But thats what you get! XD This wallpaper just oozes creepy, which is fitting for the show. The scan took a lot of work, as did making the walls and such, but it turned out alright. I'll be sure to do something different next week, as there's like, a million other awesome shows going on :3

[Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ] 06.02.06

Well, suffice to say I'm hooked on Higurashi no Naku Koro ni! It very well may be the first and only harem-murder-mystery anime I have ever watched ;D I have another one in the works, with a much less light-hearted theme...

Also, a bit random, but I updated my FAQ! Oh, and though I'm a bit late on this, check out Desktop Anime! and Imanimetions, both update with shiny new layouts and walls ^^

[Rozen Maidens in the Pink...] 05.27.06

This has to be one of the cutest and fluffiest, and just all around adorable Rozen Maiden images I've ever seen ^^ So, I just had to make it a wallpaper! More to come too... I'm on Rozen Maiden kick lately---that and Blood+ :D Additionally, when it's available, I'm going to add the name of the illustrator of the image I use in a wallpaper. So yeah, it makes the sig a little lengthier, but it also makes us all a little more knowledgeable. :3

I've really been getting into The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya recently, mainly because the characters in it really have so much personality! This wallpaper was shaped around a logo-esque design, with the titles of all the chapters in the story faded into the background. And for some reason, it makes me think of the beach! XD

[Blood+, Eternal Devotion] 05.12.06

Another weekend, another update! Or at least lately it's looking that way ;D So for today, I have more Blood+! I really love this show, and even though I thought it was slow to start, it just developed into much more than I ever thought it would. I picked this image because it's so much more happy than most of the other art this show has to offer. It makes a nice change in the direction the Blood+ section was going ;D Next step, wall something that doesn't have Saya and Haji!

And I've still got some neat stuff on eBay, so check it out!

You know, I found it easier to love the show than the art for Noein. Even now, it's just kinda grown on me... Either way, I've made a kinda poster style wallpaper for the show, completely done in vectors to emphasize the angularity of it all!

[Anemone, Lost Hope] 05.05.06

Another Eureka Seven wallpaper for today! I've wanted to wall this image for a bit, but it'd just been sitting around half done for a while 'till now. The background is modeled off of screenshots from the show of the hatch where theEnd lands, and I kept it relatively simple in detail, with the color being the main binding factor. I really like the Dominic and Anemone storyline, so I'm glad to finally have a wallpaper from it ^^

I've been in love with Jigoku Shoujo's 3rd volume DVD cover ever since I saw the pre-release thumbnail for it on Amazon XD And finally, thanks to the magic of the internet and AnimePaper, I've got the scan to work from ^^ Needless to say, I didn't have to change much to make this a fitting desktop. It's like a dark and sinister spring ;D

I took this week to catch up on one of the more popular shows that recently ended, Shakugan no Shana, and made a wallpaper for it ^^ I just went with the cheerful look of the image and Shana's love for Melon bread to make a clean and colorful design.

[Suiseiseki's Tea Party] 04.09.06

I did something a little different for this wallpaper, for once, I composed it according to the widescreen ratio. So I ended up having to crop it for the other resolutions, and subsequently decided, I'm not doing that again XD All in all, worth trying once ;D So yeah, it's Rozen Maiden again, and I just decided to do a "dolls at a tea party" theme, cause I thought it was cute and fitting with the characters!

[Proxy Shattered] 03.26.06

First off, a big round of applause for Bantam who, aside from just being awesome in general, has made my site into this automatic page generating machine that you see before you <3. And this is the new look! If you see anything that's not working, please let me know! Oh, and since I updated Friday, I'll just repost the blurb that went with that.


Initially, I completely wrote Ergo Proxy off as overly hyped but, gorgeous to look at nonetheless. Luckily, so far it keeps getting better ^^ So I decided to do an Ergo Proxy wall featuring Lil and the crazy monster rave! The scan needed a ton of work, which was made even more difficult because the original had really minimal contrast, so I needed to change the hues on the image in order to even see the differences in the folds in fabric. After the hard part, I went with the shattered look that the end of the first episode had and drew in all the little shards of glass.

I was looking through back issues of anime magazines, for no other reason than I was sick and didn't feel like going anywhere ~_~ But, that aside, I came across this awesome Futakoi Alternative poster, with Sarah and Souju having a picnic. So yeah, after some cleaning and assembly, it makes for an lovely desktop ^^ 

Random other stuff... I watched Binchou-tan and like, is it just me, or does she change sizes? o_O

[Eine Kleine Nachtmusik] 02.17.06

So, I opted to do a Blood+ wallpaper for this week, just cause I've been catching up on it... even though I'm still behind ._. I wanted to emphasize the moonlit-look without the moon, because while I was playing around with this wall, I noticed that adding it would really take away from Saya and the overall dark feel it had going on. 

Oh, and I know I said ages ago that I'd be doing a new layout, and it's still happening! It's just in slow motion ;D 

[theEND vs. typeZERO] 02.09.06

More Eureka Seven! Yeah, I know, I'm not going to make it three in row, but I was jealous cause Kalico had more Eureka walls than me ._. It's a nice group image with a peaceful look to it. Because the original image didn't have much color variance, it inspired me to go with an old paper look, having the characters stand out a bit from the background, with Maeter leaving the page, just to play with the style a bit. I especially like how different it is from last week's E7 wall ;D

Anyhow... Something else for next week! ^-^

[theEND vs. typeZERO] 02.02.06

While I was working on this wallpaper, episode 26 of Eureka Seven came out, which only made me love the show even more <3 Honestly, if you haven't seen it, it's definitely something to check out. Anyhow, this wallpaper features theEnd and typeZero, doing cool things like flying and fighting. 

And, if you click here, I've included a widescreen version (1680 x 1050). I've received a lot of requests for including widescreen wallpapers on the site, although from e-mail to e-mail it varies between 16:9 and 16:10. But I still haven't decided for sure yet to make it a permanent thing XD  

[Carried Away!] 01.25.06

I haven't watched Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, or read much of the manga. But, as with all things CLAMP the images are gorgeous so I still bought the 2006 calendars ^_^ Anyhow, I liked this image of Sakura and Shaoran and I did the background with a paneled look, with portions of backgrounds from the show in each panel.   

In other news! I'm updating the website, layout and stuff, so if things are weird here for a bit, now you know why! 

[The Sound of Silence] 01.11.06

I really love Mushishi, much in the way that I love short stories. This particular wallpaper is a take on the elements from the third episode, the snow, the dark and quiet room... ^-^ The emptiness even has a kind of double meaning, if you've seen the show. Yeah, I'm not going to give anything away about it, since I know not everyone has seen it. But I'm sure everyone wants to, right? ;D
