[Mai Otome!] 12.26.2005

And now for something a bit more cheerful! ^-^ I really like Mai HiME, but I might just be liking Mai Otome more... Either way, it was definitely time for a wallpaper. Just going for a nice clean style on this one, albeit it, a bit on the girly side. But you mahou shoujo fans are comfortable enough with your love of magical girls to use it anyway ;D

Oh oh, and if you didn't quite get everything you wanted for Christmas, check out my eBay auctions for 2006 poster-sized import anime calendars from Eureka Seven, Bleach, Naruto, Blood +, School Rumble, Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Cat, Honey & Clover, Gundam SEED Destiny, and Sousei no Aquarion

[Jigoku Shoujo] 12.17.2005

Jigoku Shoujo is really a dark themed show, so I went with an equally dark themed wallpaper for my first from the series. Perfect for the holiday season, eh? ;D To single out Enma Ai, I took some creative liberties and made the paper wall she normally sits next to almost entirely wood, so it blocks out any light that's there. There's detail, but minimal distraction really, so that Enma is the focus. I have too many new images lately, and no time to wall, but I'm working on it :3

[Honey & Clover] 11.13.2005

Two new wallpapers from Honey & Clover this week! It was really a great show, so I thought it'd be a nice addition from last season's shows. Not too much to say about these, since they're just scans I've cleaned up. But the layouts really lend themselves for desktops for us fans :3

[Rivals in the Fall] 11.05.2005

With Naruto now playing weekly on the Cartoon Network, I'm sure its already massive fandom has grown. So because of that, and the fact that I still get a kick outta watching it (though not enough to suffer through 24 episodes of filler >_<) I decided to make another wallpaper for it ^^ This time, it features Naruto and Sasuke, the perpetual rivals, in a completely non-confrontational moment. Just two kids in the sleeping on the leaves...

[Agnes Through the Looking Glass] 10.16.2005

Nope! Not dead! From the e-mails I've been receiving these past two weeks, I have to say, the rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated ;D Anyhow, back on track with a new wallpaper from the last season's barely noticed Okusama wa Mahou Shoujo! Maybe some people watched it, just not the ones I talk to. Anyway, I liked it, and felt like doing a wallpaper that imitated that clean style of the opening sequence. Housewife by day, Magical Girl by night...! Or whenever she feels like it ^^

In other news, I've gone through my links and removed the sites that a) I was linking to, but they weren't linking back  b) on Hiatus or c) Error 404 pages. Sooo... that actually got rid of a lot more than I expected. I know there are a lot of new anime wallpaper sites out there that I might not have seen yet, so like, send me an e-mail and lemme know if you'd be interested in an exchange ^^

[D.C. ~ Da Capo ~] 09.04.2005

I never finished watching the first season of D.C. Da Capo (though I really need to get back to it someday!) so I've been putting off watching the new second season. But even though I haven't had the chance to enjoy DC SS, I've been loving the detail oriented artwork they keep putting out for it ^_^ Especially as compared with the first season stuff... which was really bland, now that I think about it. o_O

[Break Time!] 08.18.2005

I used an image from the newest Mai HiME art book for this wallpaper. I re-colored and edited quite a bit, as there was the book binding, but other than that, I kept it how it was. So yeah, early update from me too, cause Otakon is this weekend! XD I see it as a time to stock up on even more art books... not that I haven't been buying them online... ~_~

Oh, I also updated the PSD. I don't know what it's from, but I got the image from Random's last summer gallery for 2005 \o/

[Go, Aquarion!] 08.13.2005

Aquarion is so cheesy and over the top at times that, like, I can't help but wonder if they did it intentionally... But even still, I've been enjoying it and figured, might as well do a wallpaper of their infamous transformation sequence >:D  I based it off of how it looks in the anime, although a bit more toned down in color even though I kept it bright and flashy overall. Fun stuff either way ^-^

[Kamichu!] 08.05.2005

Another new show this week, Kamichu! I've really enjoyed the first couple of episodes of this show, it makes little things seem dramatic with its musical score and very fluid animation. Maybe it'll continue that way... Anyhow, I liked the dynamic nature of this scan, with its angle and depth. I recreated the original background, and added a few things of my own to it, and that's it! XD

[Fun at the Beach!] 07.29.2005

Today's a double feature! I feel like I just made a Mai HiME beach wallpaper, but I'm sure the HiME fans don't mind another variety shot ;D The original image had Mikoto in it, along with Nao, Midori, and Mai, but I opted not to include her since it would make it too crowded as a desktop. I stayed true to the water fun theme that it had and made the background accordingly :3 And everything Mai HiME is always so colorful XD

This second wallpaper is from a new show called Gun x Sword that was insta-licensed by Geneon, so I figure we'll be seeing it state-side in the near future. The characters are Carmen 99 (great name) and Wendy, in case you haven't checked it out yet :3  It looks promising though, even it is seems vaguely familiar XD Anyhow, this is all in honor of the quickly disappearing summertime! It's nearly August already...

[Clash of the Titans] 07.22.2005

More Gundam SEED Destiny this week! And this time, it's the Gundams! I went for a dark, conflict-lit look of the battle between Impulse and Freedom. I think that this is actually my first wallpaper with no people in it. Unless you want to read into it and say, well, there are pilots in those Gundams even if you can't see them! XD

I put up a new song, it's the last song played in Samurai Champloo, San Francisco by Midicronica. And, new PSD from Disgaea ^^

[Book it!] 07.14.2005

So, I revisited a show from earlier this year, cause recently Megami Magazine published their collection book of all the posters and other images from Yami to Boshi to Hon no Tabibito. And Kei scanned it out! <3  So while browsing the scans I saw this particular image of Hazuki and wanted to use it to create a coming-out-of-the-book scene. Even though I wasn't a big fan of the show, the art always wins me over ^^

[Amaenaideyo!!] 07.08.2005

As summer gets into full swing, so does a new batch of anime series. Amaenaideyo is one of these shows, featuring a harem style setup mixed with ghosts, monks and temples. This Megami Magazine poster already had the perfect setup right along with space for icons ^^

Also, be sure to check out my affiliates! Lots of new layouts and new wallpapers---summer is the season for updates! XD

[Peace Out Jin!] 07.01.2005

More from Samurai Champloo this week, this time it's Jin! ^^ He was my favorite of the bunch and he looks particularly awkward wearing this get-up in the scan. For the background, I did the traditional Champloo grunge using a mix of official ads for the show, scans of origami paper that I'd bought at the Kinokuniya ages ago, and default photoshop brushes.

I've also updated the song to "Rakuen" by Do As Infinity, which I've just been listening to lately. :D

[MADLAX] 06.25.2005

I always tend to lose interest in shows too early on if they try to be overly mysterious... And Madlax really was like that at the beginning. But I still enjoyed it, especially towards the end. I made a lot of textures for this wallpaper, and it has a central theme, but I'm sure if you've seen the show you'll probably figure it out on your own ;D

In other news, AnimePaper has been completely re-coded to give it a more unique look and a versatile skin <3

[He Is My Master!] 06.17.2005

Despite all the reviews that focus on the fan service, I totally think He is My Master is one of the funniest, non sequitur shows I've seen in a while. So there! I made a wall for it :3 It started out as a straightforward beach wallpaper, but I changed it half way through and just left the first background I'd made inside the Pochi cut-out.

New music this week from Sousei no Aquarion, another show that needs a little more lovin' ;D And a new PSD from the AIR TV show as well ^^

[Destiny Duo!] 06.12.2005

I haven't walled anything from Gundam SEED in forever, so with this new season of Gundam SEED Destiny getting increasingly intense (even with all the flashbacks and stock footage XD) I was in a mood to wall more. The wall features the two sisters, Lunamaria and Meyrin Hawke looking cute as usual ^^ It's an abstract 3D background, but I haven't done one of those in a while, and I was starting to miss it!

[Suigintou's Slumber] 06.11.2005

I loved the dolls in Rozen Maiden, and if I had to pick a favorite, it'd probably be Shinku, just because I loved her abusing ways XD Nevertheless, I did a Suigintou wallpaper, cause she really does have the best costume (it's the wings!) And then the thought process goes something like this, wings = birds = nest = sleeping! So yeah, Suigintou in her box resting on a bed of feathers <3

And the PSD is also from Rozen Maiden, featuring an image of Shinku that I cleaned from an Animage poster and completely forgot to use...

[Wait and Hope...] 06.04.2005

A new one for the Gankutsuou section ^^ It's still my favorite show from last season and I was re-watching random episodes the other day, which put me in the mood for another wall. Anyhow, the character scan came from Animage Magazine and originally had a more upbeat look to it, but I felt like giving it a more somber style.

Oh, and the Storywriter song by SUPERCAR was in Eureka Seven. It's not the opening or ending, in case you were wondering ;D

[Makeover!] 06.02.2005

Ningen version 6 is up and running! I've updated the song and PSD, as well as fancied up the links section. I've changed servers so I now have more space and more bandwidth, along with an easier to update set up. So that means, look forward to a lot more wallpapers!

[... And twins!] 05.28.2005

Ooh yes, it's PINK! I tried to talk myself out of it, but realized, hey, I like pink! <3 So it's the GothLoli Mask duo from Futakoi Alternative, Kira and Yura. I didn't watch the first Futakoi series, but seeing as how this one is nothing like it, I guess I don't need to. They were so frilly and lacey in the picture, I just went for an all-out girly theme on this wallpaper. What's with guys and their aversion to pink anyway? You'd think it was genetic...

[Pimpin'] 05.21.2005

It's Mugen! XD Strangely anachronistic, and yet, Samurai Champloo's style was really all about mixin' it up! I went with the style on the R2 DVD covers, but did it my own way :3 And... I heard that that Champloo is now playing on Cartoon Network (yup probably old news, but I can never seem to keep up...) Other than that, there's a new song and a new PSD to download!

On a side note, I've been informed that this offends the British...

[Eureka Seven] 05.14.2005

Yes, I just jumped on the Eureka Seven bandwagon! But honestly, it has the makings of a really good show, and I like the Overman King Gainer style character designs. And also, in response to the growing number of wallpaper "suggestions" I've been receiving lately, I'd like to encourage you to check out my links section to help you find a wallpaper from the show you're looking for ^^ I update the links regularly, and make a point to include sites that update fairly often, so the chances are good that you'll find something you'll like there too!

[Akao Hiiragi] 05.06.2005

For this wallpaper, I used detailed line work and minimalist coloring for a more comic-like wallpaper design. I'm starting to think that the Jinki Extend character designs go with anything XD So anyway, next week, some other series, although I think I've gained a new appreciation for mecha designs and there's no shortage of shows with robots this season :D There may be more girls with robots in the near future o_O

[Jinki Extend] 04.29.2005

This week, I've added a new wall from Jinki Extend featuring Aoba! I vectored the mecha in the background from a couple of screenshots and just wanted the whole wall to have a stylized kind of look with some fancy line work ;D I also did a scan-to-wall from from a spread in the Tenjho Tenge artbook that's been floating around. Just some fun stuff for the desktop ^^

And finally, I updated the music box with a song by Bonnie Pink called Bedtime Story <3 By the way, make sure you check out the new Anime Paper which has an awesome new look along with a way more interactive gallery where you can even post your wallpapers!

[Gilded Hearts] 04.22.2005

All the artwork for Gankutsuou is just so majestic. The original image came from a Newtype fold out poster from the March issue. And I really thought the series was awesome, well planned from beginning to end, and original. I'm glad they didn't feel the need to religiously follow the original story, as their re-interpretation was quite enjoyable. Definitely something I'll be adding to my collection ^^

[Goddess in the Park and a 'Loveless' addition] 04.14.2005

So I've got a couple new walls ready to go this week, one of them being a scan-to-wall, but hey, it's Loveless, and it's just started and I haven't even watched it yet. The other addition is once again Belldandy from the lovely, Ah! My Goddess. I had a theme like this in mind from the first time I saw the image in an Animedia magazine, it just took a while for me to get around to it ^^;

I've updated the song, it's by Utada Hikaru and it's the theme song from the Casshern live action movie that came out last year. Thanks to Gabriel for that info! ^^ And finally, there's a new Tsukuyomi Moon Phase PSD!

[Mai HiME School Idols] 04.01.2005

Seeing as how most people have figured out it's April Fool's day, I've taken down the silliness :3 Mai HiME has finally come to an end! ;_; And I loved it ^^ Such a good show... Actually a lot of the shows that started in the fall of last year turned out to be really good, and I found myself trying to keep up with more shows than ever before ~_~ Well, even though Mai HiME has ended, I've still got a few more ideas and images I'd like to use in wallpapers, so expect more from me XD

[She is waiting... in the grass] 03.25.2005

Spring is in the AIR! <3 I know what you're thinking, there are other characters in AIR other than Misuzu. And I promise, someday, I'll find them! Till then, here's one more AIR wallpaper with a spring look to it. The original image came from a Megami Magazine poster, and I just drew in a nice grassy knoll for her to rest on.

And to go with the AIR theme, I've uploaded the opening song from AIR, Tori no Uta. Enjoy!

[Nya~ Tsukuyomi Mode!] 03.17.2005

Here's another addition to the Tsukuyomi Moon Phase section! :3 I think I'm entering into a cute phase for this site... I keep seeing really cute pictures and wanting to do wallpapers for them ~_~  Eh, we'll see if it lasts. Anyhow, this wallpaper features Hazuki and Alto... and I'll leave it at that if you haven't seen too much of the series ^^;

There have been so many new updates at the Anime Project Alliance gallery! The new PSD from .hack//SIGN comes from a scan from that gallery, so go check it out and see what's new!

[Face/OFF] 03.11.2005

More BLEACH! XD This time, it's a collaboration that Bantam and I had been working on for a little while. We used a lot of rough lines and textures to give it a decayed kind of look. The wallpaper is split up on the gallery page, so if you don't have a dual screen monitor, don't worry. You can still have a Byakuya x Renji or Rukia x Ichigo wallpaper on your desktop ;D

And for more new and cool things, check out Pixelated Graffiti and Mercurial Design! Both have a fresh new look and new wallpapers as well!

[Exile's Cocoon] 03.04.2005

When I was updating the my Last Exile section, I noticed that's it's been nearly two years since the date that I made my first LE wallpaper... scary. With that said, I bring you my wallpaper rendition of the DVD cover for the final volume of Last Exile, which was released a couple months ago. I re-watched the final episode for points of reference, and like, I suddenly remembered how much I love the music in that show <3

So, for no reason other than my nostalgia kick, I've uploaded the fancy ending theme from episode 26 to the song section on your top left.

[7 Years Bad Luck] 02.25.2005

I've long wanted to compose a wall with the villains from Fullmetal Alchemist, namely the sins. I tend to enjoy the bad guys in shows :3 I came up with the idea of the mirror, cause of the double entendre with the number 7--seven deadly sins and seven years bad luck (if you break a mirror). It's also the idea that Ed has to confront his "sin" and mirrors have always been symbolic for internal reflection.

[HiME vs. MiYU] 02.20.2005

Oooh... late update! But it's still the weekend at least. Anyhow, despite everyone and their puppy bashing it, I really like Mai HiME, and it just gets better each week. I picked a more dynamic picture to wall, cause lately, I've been doing those stand alone types (see previous updates XD) and I was in the mood for something different. It took me a while, but I like the end results :3

[Gao~!] 02.11.2005

Okay, so yes, I have been watching AIR ^^ I'm really just waiting for them all to flip out, as KANON has definitely safeguarded me from believing this is just going to be another cute show. I was thinking about adding seagulls, but then they'd just be vying for attention with the dinosaur ;D

Also, I've updated the MP3. It's the song "Moon on the Water" from the awesome show BECK, that Koyuki and Maho sing a couple times. Definitely one of my favorites <3

[BLEACHED] 02.04.2005

You know, BLEACH is one of the few series where I've actually read the manga but still watch the anime series, even though I know what's going to happen. Suffice to say, I love it and if you haven't checked it out yet, do it! What else... new PSD from Uta~Kata, featuring Ichika and Manatsu. I haven't seen too many Uta~Kata wallpapers, so hopefully someone will find it useful ^^

[Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu] 01.28.2005

And so, after a weird week of not being able to focus on anything, I've opted to go with the quick and painless scan-to-desktop. ^^ The girl in the wall is Iriya, from Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu, which premiered today. I had read up on it after I'd seen a few promo images, and it sounds like the kind of drama I like in a show, so I know I'll be checking it out, even though it's one episode every few months! XD

I've also added a new PSD from Wolf's Rain, one of my favorite images actually, but my Wolf's Rain kick has pretty much ended. And I've uploaded the 2nd ending from BLEACH, just cause, everyone loves it :D

[Roy Mustang - Too sexy for his shirt!] 01.21.2005

Well, today's new wallpaper rather compliments the last one I did from Fullmetal Alchemist, mainly cause it has that dark dramatic look to it. Sorry, I couldn't resist this image---Roy Mustang was my favorite character from the series ^^;  Probably not too appealing to the male crowd out there, but the ladies should love it! ;D I did add a Rozen Maiden PSD last week, but I forgot to mention it in the updates... in case you didn't notice.

[Ah! Belldandy-sama! ] 01.14.2005

Unless you've been living in a cave for the past few months (but that's cool too) you probably know the new Ah! My Goddess TV series has premiered. Which also means, new art from the show in all the magazines! So, since I realized I haven't actually ever made an Ah! My Goddess wallpaper, I thought now would be a good time to start ^^;

Other than that, I've added a new MP3 from KURAU Phantom Memory. It's the piano rendition of the ending theme from the second OST, a really lovely piece. And on a scale of one to awesome, Desktop Zero's new layout is super great ;D

[Neko Mimi Mode! and Site Changes] 01.06.2005

And here it is, the new layout. Along with that, I've made a few changes around the site. I've taken down the 800x600 wallpapers, added some new PSDs, and put up a little spotlight section. I like the vague terminology, it gives me more freedom to put random things of interest there ^^

A new addition from one of my favorite new shows this season, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase. Though you might think the whole cute vampire girl idea is cliché, the characters--especially Hazuki--are beautifully animated and illustrated, and it just sucks you in. At the very least, you can't forget the opening ;D

[Happy New Year! Festival Wallpaper] 01.01.2005

To kick off the New Year, I figured I'd put up one of the many festive pictures I've been seeing magazines lately. Anyhow, these are the girls from Tristia of the Deep Blue Sea, which while it's cute, only appeals to me cause the character designs were done by COA2. He just makes everything so colorful ^^  The more popular show you might know is Maburaho---same guy.

So here's what up though. If you're getting this update then my server info has resolved. I changed servers because the previous bandwidth I had didn't leave me any room to expand, or for that matter, even update regularly. This site can always be reached using the http://www.ningen.tk or http://ningen.nattoli.net addresses, so make sure that's what you've got linked ^^

So look forward to more everything in the upcoming year and a new layout rather soon! XD
