Sometimes, I'm just overwhelmed by the massive amounts of awesome images coming out each month and the small number of things I actually manage to wall :D But I wanted to be way ahead of the curve on this one, so I decided to wall this awesome Soul Eater image, that came with April's Animedia Magazine

The winter anime season always feels a bit slow, but there a few shows I've been following, one of which is True Tears! The characters really have personality, which is saying something for one of these shows based on romantic visual novel. The background for this wallpaper was made from scratch, but it was based on the background in the original scan. The wallpaper features the leading ladies altogether, on a leafy fall background, like from the opening. But it's good for any season ;D

And some more from the Yoko Portraits art book. This piece was illustrated by Shouko Nakamura, who was the animation director for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann episodes 10 and 17. Maybe, if you went back and watched episodes with this on your desktop, you could better notice the artist's influence ;D I chose this one to be the next re-coloring job because it was so vivid and bright, and the good nurse/bad nurse theme isn't too bad either. I've finished a bunch of wallpapers recently (and not all Gurren Lagann!) so I'll be updating a bit more often over the next few weeks ^^
[Yoko on the Couch] 02.08.08
For those of you scan and image crazy folks out there, I'm sure you've already seen your fill of the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Yoko Portraits floating about. But seeing as how they're not exactly desktop ready in image quality and size, it's my new mission to make them good to go! I bought a copy of the book too, so I'm starting with my own scans. This first one was illustrated by Toshifumi Aki, a key animator for the series. I've extended the drawing from the original so that nothing of Yoko would have to be cropped to make it widescreen ready.
[A Little Wolf Inside A Cart] 01.16.08
And the cycle continues: a new season of anime, and a new wallpaper for it :D The one show it looks like I'll be following this season is Spice and Wolf. I love Kazuya Kuroda's character designs, but while they weren't enough to get me to watch Monster Princess, they sealed the deal for Spice and Wolf. The icing on the cake was the awesome opening song that just really fit the mood of the whole show; light with something sinister lurking beneath! The wallpaper features the leading lady, Horo.
In site news, with the end of Shinta's Imanimetions, I've added a new affiliate EGAO! Distant Destiny, which is an active site with a seemingly endless bounty of high quality wallpapers you might not have seen and the promise of more to come!
